On Saturday September 29th, 2007 Eric Kesler was invited to serve as guest clinician for the Fall Retreat for the Chancel Choir of Providence Presbyterian Church, Powdersville, SC. This is the home church of our own Karen Gossett; where she is Director of Christian Education and her husband Tim Gossett is Director of Music. The group met that morning at 9:00am at Ellenburg Hall; a spacious log built lodge next to the church. The choir was introduced to the Creative Motion principles of body balances, anticipation body/light-weight body, the body breath thru the arches of the body, and everyone's favorite, SWING! The choir had a great transformation of sound and energy in our experience through our afternoon session. The songs rehearsed and then performed for the Sunday 11:00am service were: "Create in Me a Clean Heart, O GOD"- Mueller, "Offertory"- Ness Beck, "Walk Worthy"- Martin, "Precious Lord, Take My Hand"-arr. Schrader. Durning our retreat we also worked the phrasings on the tunes "Come With Joyful Singing"-Martin, and "Still, Still, Still"-Wilberg.
Everyone had a great time and many new eyes were opened up to the world of Creative Motion!
