I. First Awareness --- Filling the Innertube, Discovering Support
a. Depth Three (Front area)
1. Lie on Back, Feet on Floor, Knees Up, Rest Hand on Stomach with pinky finger over navel, palm of hand over navel, thumb over navel, breathe into hand in each position
2. Breathe into same three spots without hand touching stomach
3. Stand and repeat #1
4. Repeat #2 standing
5. Fill like a water balloon from the bottom up
b. Ribhugger (Side Area)
1. Place hands on sides of body at lower ribs & breathe, notice how ribs expand against the hands
2. Keep hands in place and stretch ribs more against hands
3. No hands but stretch open ribs
4. Connect front to sides, filling the water balloon
c. Ragdoll (Back Area)
1. Exhale and fall over into ragdoll, breathe into the small of the back
2. Come up to a standing position breath and breathe into the small of the back
3. Repeat #1 but breathe into the entire back
4. Repeat #2 but breathe into the entire back
5. Connect the entire innertube, filling the water balloon
II. Second Awareness --- Springing in the Breath, Discovering the Release of Energy
Opening and Lining Up the Arches, Discovering the Network of Energy
a. Find Spring of Breath at Solarplexus...Jump...Release of the Down/Up
b. Set Up Slow Rhythmic Pulse in 4/4 of Short Breaths, Sensing Arch
c. Connect the Dots...Channels of Energies...Network of Arches
1. Trace Energy from Center to Top of Head (Dancing)
2. Trace Energy from Center to Fingertips (Magician)
3. Trace Energy from Center to Toes and Heels of Feet
(Surf Board or Skiing)
4. Put It All TOGETHER (Lightness as if Floating) Connect the First and Second Awarenesses
III. Third Awareness --- Finding the Anticipation Body, Discovering Energized Posture
a. See Someone Across the Room You Like...First Physical Response
b. Complete the Action and Hug
1) Yourself
2) Your Music
3) Your Conductor
4) Your Audience
c) Positive Attitude not Posture Connect the First Three Awarenesses
IV. Fourth Awareness --- Experiencing Over the Top, Discovering Artistic Balance
(Anticipation Body with An Attitude)
a. 1st Breath...connect first three awarenesses again, on exhalation allow body to collapse
b. 2nd Breath...arms float up to even with shoulders when completely full of air, go over on the exhalation into the ragdoll
c. 3rd Breath...open up entire back while in ragdoll position
d. 4th Breath...spring to standing position on breath and fill in the anticipation body with air until full, then exhale from innertude and down keeping upper body round and buoyant but shoulders relaxed; envision a hot air balloon as it comes off the ground, sense light radiating from your forehead, chest, and big toes with the light remaining on even as you exhale
e. 5th Breath...see if the body can maintain that buoyancy while breathing in and out; envision the hot air balloon on still grounded but floating in the sky, the lights remain on and glowing
V. Fifth Awareness --- Flying on the Energy Breath, Discovering Wholeness
a. Place a song in the your body, take off, and soar like a bird over the highest mountains
b. Do Not Hold your breath, breathe normally
c. Fly until your wings get tired and then land on an exhalation
d. Develop a Sense of Continuous Inner Motion to Outer Movement
