Creative Motion (Body Tuning) Class |
One of the signature classes of Windswept, 'Body Tuning Class' allows you to explore Creative Motion's core principles through activities that allow you to gain awareness of your body as the primary instrument and experience the mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual traits of energy. Both individually, and in small and large groups, you heighten your sensitivity, and deepen your awareness as you respond to musical examples, explore internal motion, external movement, and much more!

Applied Creative Motion Classes

Learn to apply Creative Motion concepts and analysis to better your performance and enhance your sensitivity as an audience member in this unique series of classes tailored to your degree of experience. |
|
Applied Classes in 2008 will be intergenerational groups with mixed experience levels. These will include classes in the areas of voice, piano, instrumental literature and independent studies.
In defining our groups for certain break-out sessions:
- -Students: For Students
age 12-18.
- -Adults (Foundations): For Adults who have attended fewer than 3 years.
- -Adults (Advanced): For adults who have attended for 3 or more years.

| Student Fundamentals Class
|
|
Tapping
into each student’s natural creativity, this class allows students
ages 12-18 to extend their application of CM principles in
a relaxed atmosphere using expressive mediums. By writing,
drawing, dancing, singing and/or playing an instrument, they
reinforce their understanding and application of CM concepts
and showcase what they’ve learned on Friday evening during the Student-Led Celebration.

Choir and Community Gathering

An evening choral experience which provides a valuable setting to explore Creative Motion principles within a choral ensemble and to experience our unique sense of community. |

Creative Motion and Expressive Arts
|
Creative motion principles can be applied to any art form. Within this class
for adult participants, you will engage in a variety of arts activities,
sometimes including visual arts and/or movement in order to "...deepen and broaden our sensitivities, and therefore share [art] more effectively" -from "Inner Image" by
Margaret Allen - Windswept founder.

| Master Class |
|
|
This class gives you the opportunity to perform before all workshop participants in a recital setting. Performers will receive specific feedback from one of our certified CM instructors, as well as encouragement from your fellow workshoppers. There are a limited number of time slots available. Performers will be asked to select a two-minute excerpt of longer works for coaching.

Special Application Seminars - in addition to the core classes listed above, we offer seminars to explore application of Creative Motion Principles to other areas. Course offerings vary from year to year. |
Music Education: One of the foundations of Windswept was educating teachers in Creative Motion principles. Continuing that tradition, this seminar engages you in hands-on activities which allow you to enhance the lessons for any teaching situation, both in the studio and music classroom. |

Conducting/Conducting Lab Seminar -Transform the art of conducting using Creative Motion principles. Your ensemble may be the instrument, but your energy guides the performance. Both beginning and veteran conductors gain techniques through hands-on experience and coaching, and improve their ability to connect with both performers and the audience. As a bonus, you have a final opportunity to practice your new skills with workshop participants during the Friday Night Conducting Lab. * Note this class is not offered every year, but those participants interested in honing their conducting skills using Creative Motion may be accomodated through private lessons, and conducting opportunities within the evening choral class.

At these informative sessions, you will learn more about the certification process and discuss the specific criteria for certification as a CM instructor at Level I (Basic) Levell II (advanced, and Level III (professional level)
